Flash Back: Glad I'm Not 13 Anymore

So my mom has been cleaning out her craft room.  My mom is The.Craft.Queen.  When I was in 6th grade and my older brothers had moved out, I got one of the bigger bed rooms in the basement and my mom turned my old room upstairs into her craft haven.  It is chuck full of stuff for scrapbooking, sewing, painting, all of that fun stuff, and I wanted to take a before and after picture (cause you could barely move in there), but she wouldn't let me.  She has found some pretty interesting stuff though!

Exibit A:
This is my old purse.  Classy right?

This is what she found in it:
One pen
3 lip products (and you know I piled all of them on at once!)
A notebook with my friends' phone numbers
Mini-calculator
43 cents
My charm bracelet
Some sort of retail tag for $6.50
A movie ticket from 6/09/2004
That lipstick is purple.  PURPLE.  When Cangrejo saw the lip gloss and the little mirror he was really surprised that my mom let me wear make-up when I was 13.  She didn't let me wear THAT much, and I still had to beg her to let me shave my legs.
The contents of my purse are SO Never Been Kissed.  (Which may or may not explain why people called me Josie Grossie.)  The phone numbers in the notebook are for LAND LINES.  I didn't know anyone with a cell phone under the age of like 21 back then.  The movie ticket doesn't say what movie it was for, but I did some research and I'm thinking it was for Mean Girls because I remember seeing that one with my friend Brandie.  Oh, and the charm bracelet???  Yeah, I'm pretty sure I was one of the last girls in my entire school to get one, because I got it for my birthday in April, and then after summer break was over and we went back to school in August, no one was wearing them.  Story of my life.  Being 13 sucked.  I'm so glad I don't have to do it again.

Oh and check out this awesome sewing pattern.  My mom always sewed my dresses for church cause we didn't really have the money to buy them.  If there's one thing that I've learned in my 20 years of life, it's that me and my mother DO NOT have the same taste in clothing, and I'm glad I'm finally at the point that I'll be honest with her about it, or I might still be wearing this stuff.

  1. Halloween. It's what I'm saying- you can be like... Little House on the Prairie. OR, match it with your purse and go as an orphan runaway?? :)

  2. Exactly. I was thinking Isabel could be Little Bo Peep or something.
